The border depicts a time of prosperity in the life of Man Singh whom was some what of a Robin Hood in several Indian provinces south of New Delhi in the early 1900's. The block printed pattern was created using a technique by which carved wooden blocks covered with dye are repeatedly pressed along a length of cloth to create a repeated pattern. What makes this technique unique is the fact that the design is executed by hand onto the fabric. The block print designs remain ever popular through out many cultures around the world today.
